In this picture is seen Herod's Temple,  courtyards and surrounding structures (center).
Herod's Temple and complex (built to replace the modest Zerubbabel Temple) consisted of a number of magnificent structures of great beauty.
Some of the greatest building projects in Jerusalem's history were originated by Herod the Great (37 BC - 4 BC).
